"The Lost Forest" is a narrative-driven visual project inspired by the growing fascination with MBTI personality tests and the search for identity through psychological frameworks. I was intrigued by how people often use these tools not just for self-discovery, but also to define their role in society and feel a sense of belonging.
This story follows a chameleon who becomes lost in a dense forest, not just physically, but emotionally and psychologically. In its desperate attempt to connect with others and fit in, the chameleon continuously changes its colors and personality to mimic the animals it meets: a lively monkey, a fearless honey badger, and others with strong, distinct traits. However, the more it adapts to please those around it, the more it loses touch with its own identity—until it begins to fade away, both in color and in spirit.
To bring this concept to life, I created a motion poster as a form of visual advertisement for the story. This format allowed me to capture the shifting moods, personalities, and emotional tension of the chameleon’s journey in a concise, eye-catching way.
Character Design: Charamelon/ Monley/ Honey Badger
The chameleon symbolizes individuals who feel socially lost and overly driven by peer conformity. Through this character, I wanted to explore the emotional cost of constantly reshaping ourselves to fit others’ expectations, and how it can lead to a gradual loss of authenticity.
